5 Changes I am Making to My Home in 2022

Happy New Year! Can I even say that anymore seeing as it’s already January 12th? Well anyways, I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I personally had a crazy one. I hosted an amazing dinner party for my friends, had our annual fondue Christmas Eve at my house, and then moved my roommate/best friend to her new house shortly after New Year’s. Even though we’re less than 2 weeks into the year, I can already tell that 2022 is going to be a year of change for me, and as hard as it is to accept that, I know it will be good! I have big plans for my house this year, and I may be getting a little too ambitious, but if I write it here, I’m more likely to work to accomplish everything.

Downtown Raleigh Hotdog Tour! What is the best hotdog in Raleigh?

I’m sure you’ve heard of Hot Girl Summer, but have you heard of Hot Dog Summer? This past weekend, I planned a hot dog tour of Raleigh for my friends and I. You’re probably thinking, “what the heck is a hotdog tour?” Well, I researched and found 7 of the most famous/popular hot dog places in or near downtown Raleigh. I then created a detailed minute by minute itinerary (can you tell I am type A?), and recruited some friends to come with me.

Mid Century Modern Bar Cart Makeover (Facebook Marketplace Flip)

Fun fact about my house: nothing is level, and this includes the dining room floor. A bar cart on wheels was not conducive to this environment. My old bar cart was also very ‘farmhouse’ which is not the style I am going for at all in this home. However, I did not want to settle for something I didn’t love to replace it, and I made a new years resolution to buy secondhand if possible. I got super lucky in January to find this bar cabinet on Facebook Marketplace for $140 and I jumped on it.

Spring Living Room Refresh!

Spring is my favorite season, but it wasn’t always. It wasn’t until recently that I realized how amazing the spring season is. It is truly a refresh for nature, and I wanted to bring that same refresh into my home. I’ve always been a proponent of changing up your spaces for the season, but this year it was even more important to me. Spring of 2020 was wild for numerous reasons; I moved into my house mid renovations, the world shut down, and I was adjusting to working from home full time in place I was unfamiliar with. This year I feel settled, and I took it as a chance to change up my living room decor.
