Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend and anyone affected by Hurricane Florence is safe. Raleigh was extremely lucky and did not get hit directly by Florence, but my college town, Wilmington, was not so lucky. Wilmington, New Bern, Topsail, and other coastal areas were devastated by the storm and the flooding continues to get worse. Many of my friends still call Wilmington home, and quite a few of them were not able to evacuate out of Wilmington. It is tough to see a place that means so much to me struggle so much. Luckily there are ways we can help, whether or not you are in the Carolinas. [Read more…]
Fall Decor Inspo
As much as I love traveling, I am so excited to be spending this weekend at home in Raleigh. My big plan is to break out the fall decor and deck the house out in pumpkins galore. I thought it’d be fun to share some of my inspiration for my fall decor this year. My goal is to decorate with neutral colors, mostly black and white, but then also throw in some metallic accents. I want to be able to transition the house easily to Halloween (because fall decor and Halloween are totally different, duh) and then back to normal fall decor for the rest of the season.
I scoured Pinterest (follow me here) and narrowed down my 7 favorite pins for fall! Click on the photo or links below to get to the source of these beautiful pictures! I can’t wait to share my fall decor with y’all very soon!
Charleston House Part 1: Before
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! I spent the long weekend with my mom in Charleston, South Carolina. My mom and stepfather recently bought a vacation home in Charleston, and this was the first weekend I was able to see the inside of it. I want to share the progress of the house with y’all as it goes through its transformation process.
DIY Affordable Shiplap

2005 was a weird year…
- I was going through my brief “emo” stage (anyone remember Etnies tennis shoes)
- My family won a PS2 from buying so many boxes of fish sticks
- and TVs were apparently the size of large boulders
My Guest Bedroom
Welcome to my guest bedroom! This is by far my favorite room in my house. I have always wanted white bedding because I love how crisp and clean it looks, but I was a naive 20 year old that also really wanted a black lab (whom I love and don’t regret getting at all), so…. I had to settle for darker linens in my master bedroom and white linens in my guest room. I’m excited to share the transformation this room has gone through since moving in a year ago!
How to get the most out of 4 days in Portland, Oregon

Hey y’all!! I just got back from a great family vacation in Portland, Oregon. My dad, brother, and I got to spend 4 days exploring the city and all that it had to offer. However, we did not do as much planning as we would have liked, so we ended up asking locals for their recommendations, which ended up being a blessing in disguise. I decided to share how we spent our limited time in the Northwest!
