Simple Gold Thanksgiving Tablescape!

November 8, 2018

Sources: Placemats (similar): At Home. Napkins: Target. White Pumpkins (similar): Target.

Hi Everyone! To prove that I didn’t forget about Thanksgiving I thought I would share my Thanksgiving tablescape. I struggled to find inspiration for a smaller round dining table, but I am pretty happy with how mine turned out.

I wanted to keep the centerpiece simple, so that I would have room for all of the place settings without the table feeling too crowded. I actually re-used the hurricane jar I had on my corner shelf in my living room (see my Fall Decor post) as the centerpiece. Since it fit the gold and white theme, it was perfect and didn’t take up too much space! My place settings are also super simple with just a gold pumpkin used as decor. The placemats are from At Home and the napkins are from the Opal House collection at Target. They were actually in the Christmas section, but they were perfect for this project. I think the key to decorating a round table is to use circular everything (placemats, centerpieces, plates, etc.). I’ve used rectangle placemats in the past, and just did not love how it looked. How to Host an Oyster Roast

October 19, 2018

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I hosted an oyster roast at my townhouse. We invited a bunch of our friends and had about 20 people attend. I was a little skeptical about how this would work out considering I live in a fairly small house with no real backyard. I had also never hosted an oyster roast, so it was a learning experience for me. Luckily Clark (my boyfriend) has thrown a few roasts in his day, so he was super helpful. Below is my beginner’s guide to throwing an oyster roast: [Read more…]

As y’all may have seen in my last post, I spent the last weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. It was the first nice weekend we’ve had there this year, so I was able to break out some of my sweaters and long sleeve outfits. I wanted to share a few of my favorite outfits with y’all! Just for reference, I’m wearing a medium in everything and 27 in the jeans that I featured in a previous post (see it: here). [Read more…]

Welcome to Bluebonnet Porch! I’m Clare, a 30 year old newlywed living in Raleigh, NC with her husband and two dogs! I bought my (well, now I guess it’s our’s) house in 2020 when I was a single 25 year old and have spent the last 4 years renovating it and making it my dream house! It is a 100ish year old craftsman bungalow in Downton Raleigh, North Carolina, and I pinch myself every day that I get to live here.

I love all things home decor, DIY, food, entertaining, reading, and working out, and I can’t wait to share more about my life with y’all!
