Spring is my favorite season, but it wasn’t always. It wasn’t until recently that I realized how amazing the spring season is. It is truly a refresh for nature, and I wanted to bring that same refresh into my home. I’ve always been a proponent of changing up your spaces for the season, but this year it was even more important to me. Spring of 2020 was wild for numerous reasons; I moved into my house mid renovations, the world shut down, and I was adjusting to working from home full time in place I was unfamiliar with. This year I feel settled, and I took it as a chance to change up my living room decor.
The Grandma Chic trend is huge right now and I honestly thought I would hate it, but the more I saw designers post about it the more it grew on me. I decided to pick up a few floral pillows to add to the couch from Zara Home, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality since they were so affordable!! I changed all of the pillows except 2 to lighten up the space and tie in more colors from my new-ish rug.
The biggest change I made was switching out my old very traditional coffee table for this new kidney shaped mid century modern one. I saw this table a few months ago at an antique store near my house, but didn’t jump on it. I’ve been thinking about it ever since, and finally went back this weekend and it was there!! Thrifting for home decor items has been my newest hobby of 2021, and I am addicted. The candle sticks on my mantle were also a thrift find!!
There are a few more tweaks I’d like to make to the living room, such as switching out the gallery wall with something a little more unique, but I am in no rush to get that done. I want to wait to find the perfect piece(s) of art for the space! I’ll make sure to share with y’all if I ever do make that change!
