I don’t know if anyone remembers when I re-did my downstairs primary bathroom right when I moved into my house (you can see it here), but my decor was very white and was very trendy. I loved how that renovation looked when I first finished it, and it meant so much since my dad and I did it together 100% on our own. However, as time has gone on it started to feel a little sterile and storage was a real struggle. Not only is this my main bathroom that I use every day, but it is also the bathroom guests use when they’re over as it is the only downstairs bathroom. I knew I needed to add some storage in a functional way, but also make it more homey and fit my current style a little more.
Luckily I had leftover Evergreen Fog by Sherwin Williams paint from Lance’s office makeover a few months ago, and it was just enough to cover this small room! I am enchanted by this color and feel like it could be used in any room, so I was more than happy to put it in another room in my house!
I also added two floating marble shelves above the toilet that added so much useful space for tissues, q-tips, cotton pads, and my perfume! These were a pain in the butt to hang though; my dad and I tried probably 5 different types of wall anchors before we found ones that would work in the plaster walls with something this heavy. It’s been a few months and they haven’t fallen off!
I added a few other new accents like a floral shower curtain and some art I had in storage, and the whole room came together quickly and relatively cheap!
