With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I thought I would share some of my favorite date night locations in Raleigh, North Carolina. Clark and I love trying new places, so this is a fun blog post to write! However, a lot of these places we tried pre-blogging era, so I don’t have pictures, but trust me, if they’re on this list they’re good!!
Best Coffee Date Spot: Jubala Coffee
This little gem in Lafayette Village or Downtown is delicious! You can get great coffee and yummy waffles! Both locations are also in great areas to walk around and explore, so you can create a fun date day out of it!
Best Movie Spot: Alamo Drafthouse
This has quickly become Clark and I’s favorite spot to watch a movie. They have a great selection of craft beer and an extensive menu. I’m not gonna lie, we have only seen kids movies here, but we love it because the audience is mostly adults! They also have a great bar as well as a wall of vintage movies you can rent. This is one of the coolest spots we’ve been to in Raleigh.
Best Dinner Spot: Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern
Clark and I went to Second Empire for a date night a little over a year ago and it was amazing! The waitstaff was so attentive and made the best suggestions! We started with wine and a selection of artisan cheeses. We each got incredible seafood entree’s. Clark had duck and I had whatever the special was that night (I can’t remember exactly what it was though).
Second Empire also has a great atmosphere and is in a super cool old house on Hillsborough Street. It is one of the oldest original homes in Downtown Raleigh and it is beautiful!
Best Daytime Activity: Bird Scooters and Museums
Raleigh’s downtown has so many great museums and most of them are free! I don’t suggest going when they have special events for kids because they’re crazy crowded, but most weekends are great!
Clark is a big proponent for Bird Scooters, which scare the crap out of me. I will admit though, they are fun and an easy, cheap way to get around downtown.
Best Casual Dinner Date Spot: Morgan Street Food Hall
This has become one of my favorite spots in Downtown Raleigh. I love the number of options you can choose from here, but I’d say the lobster rules and poke bowls are my favorite! This is a great date night spot because you have so many different food and drink options. Good choice for a picky eater!!
