Powder Room Makeover

September 10, 2019

wallpaper | print | light fixture | rug

The powder room is the smallest room in my house, but one that almost every guest sees. It barely fits a 2×3 rug, but I still wanted it to be cute. After my laundry room makeover, I thought I was done with wallpaper for awhile, but here I am doing it again. I decided to only do wallpaper on the main wall in the powder room and then paint the rest of the walls a matching grey color (I went with Passive by Sherwin Williams).

The wallpaper is a peel and stick wallpaper from Home Depot and was super affordable and semi-easy to put up. The pattern is so detailed that it was more challenging to match up than the larger geometric print I’ve done in the past.

I partnered with Great Big Canvas and was sent this super colorful framed print. I absolutely love the color it adds to the room and I tied it in with a pink and grey rug! I’ll be doing a blog post all about wallpaper installation, but I absolutely love how this little room turned out!

Here are a few before pictures. The previous owners had it painted a lovely poo color, and I painted it Benjamin Moore Maritime White like the rest of the house when I moved in and it stayed just plain white like that for 2 years.

You did a fantastic job on the wallpaper and the print looks great on the back wall!

Welcome to Bluebonnet Porch! I’m Clare, a 30 year old newlywed living in Raleigh, NC with her husband and two dogs! I bought my (well, now I guess it’s our’s) house in 2020 when I was a single 25 year old and have spent the last 4 years renovating it and making it my dream house! It is a 100ish year old craftsman bungalow in Downton Raleigh, North Carolina, and I pinch myself every day that I get to live here.

I love all things home decor, DIY, food, entertaining, reading, and working out, and I can’t wait to share more about my life with y’all!
