Welcome to my guest bedroom! This is by far my favorite room in my house. I have always wanted white bedding because I love how crisp and clean it looks, but I was a naive 20 year old that also really wanted a black lab (whom I love and don’t regret getting at all), so…. I had to settle for darker linens in my master bedroom and white linens in my guest room. I’m excited to share the transformation this room has gone through since moving in a year ago!
When I moved in, I brought the bed that I had at my dad’s house in high school and the nightstand and dresser that I’ve had since 8th grade and used all throughout college. Two issues with this 1) they didn’t match 2) they are a little juvenile for the space. I also kept the same bedding I had on my bed all throughout high school. I was ballin’ on a budget and my guest room wasn’t a priority yet!
A few paychecks after moving in and getting settled, I realized this room needed some work. My mom was actually the one who suggested a tufted headboard and found this one for under $180 at At Home. (I linked the one I got, and a similar one since they no longer seem to carry this dark grey.) To combat the dark color of the headboard I got a white quilt and duvet cover from Pottery Barn, and dressed it up with pillow my grandma and mom helped me make. The chair in the corner is from a second hand store in Cary, NC, and I couldn’t be more happy with it!!
I kept the same night stand and dresser, but added new knobs to make it fit the style of the room better.
I found the lamp and succulent at Home Goods and they add just enough to the night stand without making it look cluttered.
The homemade pillows really bring the room together and add a sentimental touch. I can’t thank my grandma enough for helping my mom and I make them. I am so thrilled with how this room turned out! I still need to get some wall decor, but for now I am content with not having my high school bedding in my house anymore!
