Hi Everyone! I mentioned in my last post that I would be working on some fun projects this year, and today I wanted to share the first one with y’all!
My dad moved from North Carolina to Texas a few years ago, but always had the intention of moving back since my brother and I are both still in the Raleigh/Durham area. He started his house search a few months ago and moved in with me around Thanksgiving until he could find a place. Luckily the perfect house fell from the sky and he placed an offer 12 hours after it hit the market and he got it.
The house is about 45 minutes from Raleigh in the perfect area for him, and it had pretty much everything he was looking for. I didn’t get to see the house in person until after he closed, but everything about it just screams “MIKE PURVIS”. However, my dad is not exactly blessed with good decorating taste, so I get to help him decorate it.
I want to take y’all along on the ride room by room as we buy furniture and add decorative touches to his home. He’s technically a ‘bachelor,’ so my goal is to keep everything simple, masculine, and clean. He hates clutter and has a very minimalist mindset.
Today I am sharing some before pictures of the house, so y’all can see what I’m working with. I apologize for the poor quality of photos. The previous owner put lots of love into this house and added some pretty cool features (like the doors and built-ins) that we will be fully utilizing in our design of the space.
I can’t wait to share how we complete this space!
