My kitchen is tiny and lacks storage, and I didn’t think to implement an organizational system when I moved in. It quickly got messy and a nightmare to find anything! This weekend I decided to tackle the kitchen and I thought I’d share the transformation with y’all!
I have a small pantry and a cabinet next to my stove, which also holds food and cooking items. I decided to focus my efforts on these two areas. I bought plastic containers for all of my baking supplies and devoted two shelves to all things baking. Another item that I am so glad I bought was a two-tiered lazy Susan that I am now using for my seasoning mixes. I also put all of my “extras” or lesser used products and food in the hard to reach cabinet above my microwave.
In the pantry, I bought some airtight plastic containers to hold my protein bars. My snacks and produce now have their own baskets, and all of my plastic wrap, aluminum foil, plastic baggies, etc have their own shelf. Since I am currently eating a paleo based diet, I put all of my rice and beans on the top shelf so that Clark can still eat them if he is over, but they aren’t taking up prime real estate.
I moved my spices from the spice rack on the pantry door to magnetic tins on the side of my fridge, so they are easily accessible while cooking. I am now using the spice rack in the pantry to hold marinades, nut butters, and syrups.
My next organizational project to tackle are my bathrooms and craft room! Stay tuned to see how those go!
