Guest Room Refresh – Coastal Bedroom Decor

May 3, 2019

quilt / duvet cover / navy pillow / tan pillows / coral pillow on chair / lamps / planter / similar painting

Hi Everyone! I am so excited to share today’s blog post with y’all. One of my very first posts was about my guest bedroom, and how I decorated it. Well, I quickly got bored with the very neutral decor in that room and decided to jazz it up.

I kept the same white quilt, but moved my old bedroom furniture into this room since what was in here was purchased when I was a child. I also kept the same accent chair, but added a new duvet, wall art, and throw pillows. I’ve always loved the beach and wanted to have a little piece of that somewhere in my home, but didn’t want it to look like a tacky beach house (you know what I’m talking about).

My mom actually found this duvet on Pottery Barn’s website, and I loved it as soon as she sent me a picture of it! I paired it with some tan and navy throw pillows. The window frame and wreath above my bed are also a crossover from the master bedroom, but I like how they look and that they bring a little bit of the farmhouse feel into this room. The pillow on the chair and the lamps are all also from Pottery Barn; can y’all tell that I love PB? The beach painting above the dresser was a Home Goods find and I love it. I also put a REAL plant on this dresser, so we’ll see if my thumb is still black or not in a few weeks.

I love how this room came out, and I hope my guests do too!

Welcome to Bluebonnet Porch! I’m Clare, a 30 year old newlywed living in Raleigh, NC with her husband and two dogs! I bought my (well, now I guess it’s our’s) house in 2020 when I was a single 25 year old and have spent the last 4 years renovating it and making it my dream house! It is a 100ish year old craftsman bungalow in Downton Raleigh, North Carolina, and I pinch myself every day that I get to live here.

I love all things home decor, DIY, food, entertaining, reading, and working out, and I can’t wait to share more about my life with y’all!
