My basement has evolved quite a bit in the last two years, but has always been the home to my craft items. I recently decided to get a treadmill, and in order to make it fit, I had to downsize my craft area a bit. I decided to sell my two IKEA desks and replace them with the same desk I have on the other side of my basement with my desktop computer on it.
I personally love this setup so much more. This desk still offers plenty of storage and has a deeper desktop, so I can have my sewing machine and serger on the desk at all times, but still be able to bring up other machines as needed. I added extra storage above the desk with these cute wire baskets, which I filled with quilting squares that I use for my applique projects. I also have a cork board, which I plan to fill with pictures from my Polaroid camera!
A lot of the extra stuff that was cluttering my old desk area was moved into my craft closet. My craft closet is a super narrow under stair closet, so it will never look pretty, but I use cubbies, baskets, bins, and a peg board on the wall to try to keep it all organized. I also use an old filing cabinet for storing my larger pieces of fabric, which works amazing!!

Peace lilies are great – and a friend told me a great tip last week: clean their leaves with the inside of a banana skin and their leaves will be so shiny. It works! I was amazed
