If you remember a blog post from a few months ago, I posted a blog about the Top 5 Projects I Wanted to Complete in 2023. Well, not much on that list has gotten done, but the laundry room has!! It has actually been done for a few months but I haven’t shared it just due to being so busy. As a reminder, when I bought my house in February 2020, my laundry room was a completely blank slate with just the washer and dryer in it.
In October of that year, my dad helped me customize it a little bit by adding some upper cabinets and a wood table top over my wine fridge and some cheap shelving units. That worked great for a while, but I really wished I had more covered storage and I hated the peel and stick backsplash I put up originally.
That brings us to May of this year when I bought 2 bottom cabinet units to match the top cabinets, extended the table top, and took on my first ever tile project all by myself!! I am so so happy with how the tile turned out and it was a huge learning experience for me. I learned I picked an incredibly hard shape to cut, and while it is far from perfect, I am so proud about how well it turned out. Musslebound adhesive tile mats were a life saver and made it way more doable because I could focus on smaller sections. I also used the wet saw on my own and am happy to report that I still have all 10 fingers and *most* of the cuts look decent.
The carport project is in the works, so I’ll share that progress with you in the upcoming weeks! I’ve also picked out the stair runner and I’m working on collecting the supplies to get that done, so we’re doing better than I thought on my 2023 goals!

I’m thrilled to see that you’ve crossed off one item from your to-do list! The laundry room looks absolutely fantastic, and those pink shelves add a wonderful touch. I’m eagerly looking forward to witnessing the completion of more tasks on your list. Great job so far!
