I am finally getting settled in my new house and renovations are well under way. I hired a contractor to do most of the work because old houses are hard and have way more issues than I was willing to take on by myself. However, my dad and I did tackle the downstairs bathroom on our own. He did majority of the hard work, but I learned a lot about laying tile and plumbing in the process.
I wanted to keep most of the house as traditional and original to the house as possible, but the bathroom had been updated previously and was just not my style, so I decided to have some fun with it. I kept the original cast iron tub and beautiful subway tile, but changed pretty much everything else. I decided to have some fun with the bathroom and based it all off of this cool patterned porcelain tile I found. The style I am going for in this house will be more of a modern traditional style, and this bathroom was the jumping off point.
