I am so excited to finally be sharing my 2018 Holiday Home Tour! I’ve been decorating my house slowly since October, and it is finally complete. My house is three levels: the main floor, which has the kitchen and living room, the basement, which is a multipurpose room, and the upstairs which has both bedrooms. I have three trees in my house, one on each level and each with their own theme! You’ll probably also see that I collect a lot of Christmas ornaments, so I gotta have a lot of trees to display them.
The main floor’s theme is Natural Farmhouse Christmas. I used traditional red and green colors, burlap, and galvanized metal.
My tree is real and Santa Claus themed. I’ve had real trees my entire life, so I aim to always have at least 1 real tree in my house. I used a burlap ribbon from Michael’s, red berries, and my entire collection of Santa ornaments to trim my tree, and I love how it turned out. This tree also has most of my ornaments I get from traveling (I buy an ornament at everywhere I visit). The tree skirt is actually handmade by my wonderful Grandma; she made it for me last year and it matches my theme perfectly! To tie in the Santa Claus theme, I tried to incorporate the word “Believe” into my decor.
I tried to keep my mantle simple this year. I used two cone trees from Kirklands that were very natural looking, but still have the green and red (and a little glitter). I also got the wooden “believe” box from Kirklands and filled it with candles and some berry floral picks. The burlap stockings are from Michael’s and I love them so much! They were perfect for the theme I was going for!
I don’t have a lot of room in my makeshift “entry way,” but I still wanted to dress it up a little. I added a star with some holly and bells to the window frame I already had hanging in this spot. I also placed this galvanized “Merry” sign on the bottom shelf! I got both of these pieces last year, and I’m pretty sure they’re both from Michael’s!
I’m hosting Christmas Eve fondue and Christmas Day brunch at my house this year, so I made sure the table was set! I kept it simple this year and actually did a whole blog post devoted to my tablescape. You can find it here!
In the corner of my dining room, I have a little cabinet. I decorated it with three little galvanized houses from Stein Mart and another smaller cone tree from Kirklands.
Since I live in a small townhouse, my kitchen doesn’t have a lot of extra space for decor, but I did my best to add a few touches here and there. My bar cart got a whole makeover for the holidays, and I shared all about it here.
On my island, I filled this bowl from Kirklands with a $7 pack of Christmas ornaments from Walmart! I also added a Christmas dish towel to the oven, which was a gift from my boyfriend’s mom last Christmas.
Next to the coffee maker, I made hot cocoa station, which I also have a blog post on here!
I kept my upstairs pretty simple, and didn’t add much. Along with Santa Claus and traveling ornaments, I also collect cow ornaments. Cows are my favorite animal, and I didn’t mean to start collecting the ornaments. One day, though, I realized that I had a ton of them and they needed their own tree. I initially thought I would put this tree on my dresser, but it turned out that a 4 foot fully flocked tree would not fit on a dresser my dresser, so the landing at the top of the stairs had to do. It actually worked out pretty well because I was able to put my cow mistletoe painting from Kirklands above it! I bought this painting totally on a whim last year and never thought I’d actually find a place to use it!
In my bedroom, I switched my accent pillow out with this adorable pillow from Kirklands, and I put a Christmas wreath above my bed!
My basement (AKA my babe cave) is sporting a pink glam theme this year! I shared lots of tutorials on decorating based around my basement decor in the Christmas section of my blog. I based the whole theme on the pink and gold poinsettias I found at Hobby Lobby! I also added some faux fur and adorable white and silver reindeers from At Home! Another super easy way to add Christmas flair to a room, is to fill bowls and vases with ornaments like I did with the wooden tray on my TV stand.
I didn’t want to clutter my desk up with too many things, so I just added this pink bottle brush tree from Home Goods!
The last part of my house I want to share is my front porch! I added some multi-color lights and bought this super fun door mat from Target. I wanted a wreath to match so I made this one using a $4 Michael’s wreath and floral picks from various craft stores!
I hope you enjoyed my home decor this Christmas! This is my favorite time of year, and I love decorating for it. I already have tons of ideas for next year!
xx Clare
