Hi Everyone! We got dumped 8 inches of snow last night here in Raleigh, so I’ve been cooped up in the house all day. I decided to bring y’all another gift guide!! This one is for the pets or pet lovers in your life! I am a dog person, so I consulted my cat loving friends (thanks Courtney and Rachael) for their suggestions. I love to get my dogs presents for Christmas even though they have no idea what Christmas is, but maybe this will give you some ideas for anyone you know who has a pet and is hard to buy for!
Clark got me one of these leashes for my birthday when we first started dating and it has been a game changer. Corona (my lab) used to pull on the leash so much, but this leash made it so much easier to walk her. We got Pete (the pit) one as well when he stopped trying to walk himself, and it has made such a difference in his leash behavior as well! Of everything on this list, this is my #1 recommendation.
This is something I’ve considered getting for Pete, but haven’t yet. However, I think it would be such a cool gift for someone with a mutt! We have no idea what Pete is mixed with, but I’d love to find out. My aunt mentioned that she wanted to get this for my uncle for Christmas and I thought it was such a good idea!
3. Kong Tug Toy
Dog toys don’t last long in my house, but this one is going strong! The dogs love to play tug with each other or with me using this toy. I like it because I can actually hold on when one of them decides they want to play with me!
4. SmartyKat Kitty Critters Cat Toys
My friend Courtney told me these were her cat’s favorite toys and they are only $3 at Target. Such a great deal!
5. Catit Electronic Water Fountain
My friend Rachael (from Loud Hot Blonde – seriously the funniest person I know) recommended this Electric Water Fountain. I know Courtney’s cat is also a diva and won’t drink still water, so I guess this a thing that cats like? I’m not sure, but cats seem a little odd.
6. “Hope You Like Dogs” Door Mat
I love fun door mats, and these are so cute! I had one that said “Wipe Your Paws,” but I think after Christmas this will be my next door mat purchase. It’s always good to warn your guest about what they’re about to walk into!
Clark and I love to take the dogs on outings to the park, beach, and everywhere in between where they’re welcome. These bowls come in so handy because we can just clip them to their leashes and fill them up with our water bottles! The perfect gift for the adventurous dog owners!
I shared this product in a previous gift guide, but it is seriously the best thing ever! I love being able to check on the dogs during the day and toss them a treat when they’re being cute. It also came in super helpful when the neighbor said Corona was barking, but I could prove she wasn’t (you gotta do what you gotta do).
SweetMintHandmade has the cutest mugs on Etsy! You can pretty much find a “(breed name) Mom” mug for any breed out there. I bought a few of these for my dog mom friends this year, and they are so cute! I just love her mugs for every time of year!
Rachael mentioned that her cat, Minnie, loves any toy on a string. I found this set at Target and thought it was such a cute gift set for kitties, and super reasonable priced!
11. PetSafe Scoop Free Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box
Courtney said this was the best litter box ever! Her cat, Cali, is a diva beyond diva’s, so if she likes this litter box, all cats will! And it cleans itself so who wouldn’t like it?!?
